M5 Networks Surpasses Two Hundred IT Consultants Offering Voice as a Service

IT Consultants Incorporate Voice as a Service as Part of a Complete Managed Services Offering for Clients

Today at the 2008 Spring Channel Partners Conference and Expo, M5 Networks, the market leader in delivering phone system functionality as a service, announced that it now has more than 200 IT Consulting firms offering M5’s Voice as a Service to their clients, representing a 70 percent annual growth rate. This is a result of two trends: the overall movement of IT Consultants to offer Managed Services and an increased demand for Voice as a Service. M5 is the pioneer of the Voice as a Service (VaaS) model, which offers phone system capabilities as an on-demand, managed service over an IP network optimized for voice.

With Information Technology as a Service (ITasS) solutions becoming more and more prevalent, IT Consultants are finding that an expertise in designing and deploying a complete Managed Services model is critical to demonstrating value in an extremely competitive market. And with the migration to IP-based phone systems in most businesses today, a complete Managed Services solution is expected to include a voice component. This is the main reason why Maron Structure Technologies, a Chicago-based consulting and design firm, decided to partner with M5 Networks to incorporate M5’s Voice as a Service into its Managed Services offering.

“Managed Services are a rising trend and we are noticing that more and more of our clients want to take advantage of these solutions. By utilizing M5’s Voice as a Service, we’ve been able to expand our portfolio without expanding our internal infrastructure,” said James Tantaro, vice president of strategy and operations for Maron Structure Technologies. “A converged voice and data network is quickly becoming a standard in almost every industry, and VaaS allows our midmarket clients to take advantage of this shift without the conventional costs associated with it.”

M5 Networks has been partnering with IT Consultants since the start of its business almost eight years ago, and its partner base has seen accelerated growth in the demand for its Voice as a Service offering as part of the overall growth in demand for hosted VoIP services. In fact, a 2007 study by AMI predicts that annual spending on hosted VoIP services will increase from $236 million in 2006 to $1.4 billion in 2010, representing a compound annual growth rate of 57 percent, with the majority of this growth (69 percent) projected to come from the small and mid-sized business market. Lloyd Group, a New York City-based IT services provider, has experienced this growth and the benefits of partnering with M5 firsthand for the past four years.

“Our decision to offer Voice as a Service has impacted our growth significantly over the past four years – M5 now provides us with more than 10 percent of our revenue,” said Adam Eiseman, president and CEO for Lloyd Group. “Furthermore 25 percent of our clients currently use M5 and I expect within five years almost all of our clients will be getting Voice as a Service as part of our LloydCare™ Managed Services offerings.”

“M5 has long been committed to the IT Consultant community, and we’re excited that increased demand for Voice as a Service has brought us new partnerships while strengthening our existing relationships as we help IT Consultants deliver on the overall promise of Managed Services to their clients,” said Jeff Silbert, vice president of channel and alliances for M5 Networks. “M5 will continue to meet our clients’ communications needs by focusing on what we do best – providing voice service in a delivery model that removes complexity for the IT Consultant and provides tangible business value that can be measured for their clients.”

About M5 Networks

M5 Networks is the pioneer of "Voice as a Service," a breakthrough solution for business phone communications. Industry experts predict that in ten years no business will have a phone system. Instead, they will require phone system capabilities as an on-demand, managed service over an IP network optimized for voice – in other words, Voice as a Service. Today M5 serves a rapidly growing base of mid-sized businesses. Its solution is distinguished by the rich capabilities and unmatched service that one would expect from an industry leader.

M5‘s Voice as a Service (VaaS) includes three major components: Active Service Management, or proactive, transparent service from deployment through ongoing management and maintenance; Embedded Continuity, or “baked-in” business continuity that goes far beyond simple redundancy; and On-Demand Solutions, which provide actionable business breakthroughs for marketing, call center, staffing and client service functions.

M5 Networks has received considerable recognition and was named to the 2006 Inc. 500 (#272) and the 2007 Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50. M5 was recognized by CRN as one of the top 15 Key VoIP Players in 2007. Internet Telephony magazine named M5 Networks an Excellence Award Winner of 2007 for their Call Center solution and awarded 2007 Product of the Year recognition to M5’s Sales Engine. M5 has also been included on the Pulver 100 list for six consecutive years in addition to receiving numerous other accolades. To learn more about M5, please visit
