IntraLinks, a provider of critical information exchange solutions, on Thursday announced that the Cloud Security Alliance, a not-for-profit organization that promotes best practices and education around the security of cloud computing, has asked IntraLinks to join its SME (Subject Matter Expert) Board, which sets the focus, strategy and content for the organization. John Landy, chief technology officer, and Mushegh Hakhinian, security architect, will represent IntraLinks on the board. As SMEs, Landy and Hakhinian will work with the Cloud Security Alliance to promote a common level of understanding between the consumers and providers of cloud computing, and to create consensus around best practices for cloud security.
The Cloud Security Alliance will be able to tap into IntraLinks' expertise and deep understanding of the cloud computing space that has come from providing secure cloud-based platforms for over a dozen years, which have been used by 800 of the Fortune 1000. IntraLinks joins some the world's leading brands on the Cloud Security Alliance, including Microsoft, Cisco, Google and Dell.
"IntraLinks has been an innovator in the cloud computing space for more than 10 years and their insight is a welcome addition to our organization," said Jim Reavis, executive director, Cloud Security Alliance. "Security is typically a key concern for any organization that's choosing and then utilizing a SaaS platform. IntraLinks' expertise and thought leadership in securely managing sensitive information and collaboration for customers in numerous industries means that the company can provide a vital perspective to the rest of our members as we all work together to enhance best practices for security."
"Joining the Cloud Security Alliance provides IntraLinks with a strategic and active partnership with other key players in the SaaS space," said John Landy, chief technology officer, IntraLinks. "We're proud of our exemplary record in providing a secure environment to some of the biggest companies in the world in a diverse number of industries but we want to work with our new partners to help make virtual spaces even safer places. By exchanging best practices in security, the alliance provides a winning proposition for the cloud computing industry and vendors, and, most importantly, gives even greater peace of mind to all our customers and to anyone considering SaaS solutions."
